The King, the Wizard, the Frog, and the Blog
3 min to read

We’ve all fallen in love with the story of the heroic young child living an impoverished life. This is the tale that begins with a boy finding himself with penniless parents, caregivers failing miserably at their task, demonstrating only cruelty and mistreatment. As the child grows, he discovers a mysterious object that changes everything.

The boy, perhaps now in adolescence, solves a riddle that unlocks the object’s hidden truth, and it is revealed to him that these are not, in fact, his parents. He realizes he was stolen and hidden away, and that his birthright is that of a great king, or his destiny is to become a powerful wizard. We find ourselves cheering him on in his struggle, until he finally reclaims his rightful place in the world.

Many important revelations about our culture follow a journey similar to that of our young hero. These are the revelations find themselves neither embraced nor welcomed by our world. Instead, they are forgotten, discarded, and tossed aside, often in the rush of our lives.

This blog returns these abandoned revelations to their rightful place of profound power in our lives, where they can awaken important aspects of ourselves and enliven us in the process.

There is another story we are all familiar with. This is the story of the beautiful that has been transformed into the grotesque. It is the story of the prince turned into a frog, and of the king transformed into a beast, both of whom must wait for love to return to their lives if they are to reclaim their original beauty.

Many revelations about culture play out in this way too. They are beautiful in their truth, but are hidden from us because they assume appearances that we do not wish to see.

This blog allows our hearts to open to these important revelations, so that they can then transform before our very eyes, and we can open to the beauty they bring into our lives.

You’ll find me here, posting on this blog, each time I am touched by a new revelation, an epiphany teaching me some penetrating truth about the self and the world.

I can not teach these revelations about our culture, only share them. Because revelations are awakened through the simple act of sharing with a tender heart, without inner or outer force. In this way, they can be remembered and felt as a resonance from deep within.

And when enough heart-opening revelations about our world are revealed to enough of us, we will arrive together at “us”, returning home in our shared humanity.
